If you do not agree with this Privacy Policy, do not use the Service.
1. Personal Information We Collect

- Food and nutrition data, such as meals, ingredients, recipes, drinks, calories, macros, meal times, favorites, notes, meal plans, recipe interactions, and food history.
- Photos and visual content, such as food photos, meal photos, barcode images, progress photos if offered, and related metadata.
- Health or wellness-related information you choose to provide, which may include weight goals, body measurements, activity level, dietary restrictions, symptoms, or other information that may be considered sensitive under some laws.

Information collected automatically
We may collect:
- Device and usage information, such as device type, operating system, app version, browser type, IP address, language, time zone, identifiers, including the device advertising identifier (IDFA) where you permit tracking, crash logs, diagnostics, pages or screens viewed, features used, session activity, and interactions with the Service.

- Cookies and similar technologies on our website, including pixels, SDKs, local storage, and analytics technologies.
Information from third parties
We may receive information from:
- Sign-in providers, such as Apple or Google, when you choose to sign in through them. This may include your name, email address, account identifier, authentication status, and related sign-in tokens or metadata needed to create and secure your account.

- Marketing partners, if permitted by law and your settings.
2. Sensitive Information
Food, nutrition, weight, goal weight, fitness, wellness, dietary restriction, allergy, and health-related information may be sensitive personal information or consumer health data under some laws.
We process this information to provide the Service you request, such as meal logging, nutrition estimates, goal tracking, and personalized insights. Where required by law, we will ask for your consent before collecting or using sensitive information for certain purposes.
VegAI is not a medical service and does not provide medical advice. Our personalized suggestions are designed to support healthy habits and wellness, but they are not a substitute for professional medical advice. You should consult a qualified healthcare professional before making medical, dietary, or health decisions. You remain responsible for your food choices, health decisions, and checking ingredients, allergens, labels, restaurant information, and vegan or vegetarian suitability before eating.
3. Food Photos and AI Analysis
When you upload or capture a food photo, we may process the image to identify foods, estimate portion size, estimate calories and nutrients, generate meal insights, suggest recipes or alternatives, assess possible plant-based suitability, prevent abuse, and provide support.
Food photos may be processed by VegAI and third-party AI or cloud service providers acting on our behalf. You should avoid uploading images that include faces, children, private documents, payment cards, medical records, or other sensitive non-food information.
Unless we state otherwise in the app or obtain additional consent where required, food photos are used to provide the Service, not to train AI models and not to identify a person.
AI-generated outputs, including food identifications, portion sizes, calorie counts, macro estimates, ingredients, dietary classifications, vegan or vegetarian suitability labels, allergy- or allergen-related information, and nutrition information, are automated approximations generated by machine-learning models. They may be incomplete, inaccurate, outdated, or not appropriate for your personal circumstances and should be reviewed and corrected by you before you rely on them.
VegAI does not verify, certify, or guarantee that any food, recipe, ingredient, meal, restaurant item, grocery item, or suggestion is vegan, vegetarian, allergen-free, safe for you, medically appropriate, or compliant with religious, ethical, or dietary requirements. VegAI may display safety notices in the app, including on Food Detail screens, reminding you that AI results are estimates and that you must check ingredients, allergens, and vegan or vegetarian suitability before eating. These notices are reminders only and do not confirm that a food is safe or suitable for you. You are responsible for checking before eating.
4. How We Use Personal Information
We use personal information to:
- Provide, operate, maintain, and secure the Service.
- Create and manage accounts.
- Analyze food photos and meal entries.
- Estimate calories, macros, ingredients, dietary classifications, vegan or vegetarian suitability, allergy- or allergen-related information, and nutrition information.
- Personalize onboarding, goals, meal plans, recipe ideas, plant-based suggestions, insights, recommendations, and app experience.
- Process subscriptions, purchases, trials, renewals, refunds, and entitlements.
- Provide customer support and respond to requests.
- Send service-related messages, such as account, security, billing, and policy notices.
- Send marketing messages where permitted by law and your choices.
- Analyze usage, diagnose bugs, improve performance, and develop new features.
- Detect, prevent, and investigate fraud, abuse, security incidents, and policy violations.
- Comply with legal obligations and enforce our terms.
- Conduct internal business operations, audits, accounting, compliance, and corporate transactions.
5. AI and Model Training
We do not use your User Content, such as food photos or meal logs, to train, develop, or improve artificial-intelligence or machine-learning models. We process your content only to provide the Service to you, such as recognizing foods, estimating nutrition, and generating insights and suggestions.
We may use de-identified or aggregated information that cannot reasonably identify you to understand how the Service is used, fix bugs, and improve product quality.
We do not sell food photos or meal logs to data brokers.
6. Login and AI Providers
VegAI may use third-party login providers, such as Sign in with Apple and Google Sign-In, to authenticate users and help protect accounts. We use the information received from these providers to create your account, keep you signed in, prevent abuse, provide support, and maintain account security.
VegAI may use third-party AI and search providers to power food photo recognition, ingredient detection, nutrition estimation, meal planning, recipe suggestions, and related AI or enrichment features. Current providers may include Gemini through Google AI Studio and Exa.ai, depending on the feature and platform configuration.
When you actively take or upload a food image for meal analysis, Gemini may process the image and relevant app context to identify food items, estimate nutrition facts, detect possible ingredients, and provide nutrition-related insights. We may also use Exa.ai to retrieve relevant publicly available web sources for nutrition, food, and recipe-related context.
Depending on the selected feature, we may send relevant inputs, such as food photos, meal descriptions, selected preferences, goals, and app context, to the applicable AI or search provider so they can return an analysis, suggestion, search result, or enrichment. Food images are processed only when you actively take or upload a photo for meal analysis. Where required by law, we will ask for your consent before sending your information to these AI or search providers.
VegAI also maintains its own food and nutrition database to support food recognition, nutrition estimates, and meal-related insights. This database is separate from user-submitted content.
We require service providers to process personal information only as needed to provide services to us and subject to appropriate confidentiality, security, and data protection obligations. We do not permit these providers to use your content to train or improve their own AI models.
7. How We Disclose Personal Information
We may disclose personal information to:
- Service providers that support hosting, cloud storage, AI processing, analytics, customer support, security, communications, payment operations, and app functionality.
- App stores and payment platforms to process purchases, subscriptions, refunds, and entitlements.
- Authentication providers when you use third-party sign-in.
- Health platform providers when you choose to connect integrations, subject to their permissions and policies.
- Professional advisors, such as lawyers, auditors, accountants, and insurers.
- Authorities, regulators, courts, or law enforcement where required by law or to protect rights, safety, security, and integrity.
- Business transaction parties in connection with a merger, acquisition, financing, reorganization, bankruptcy, or sale of assets.
- Other parties with your direction or consent.
We may disclose aggregated, de-identified, or anonymized information where it cannot reasonably identify you.
8. Analytics, Attribution, and Advertising
We use analytics tools to understand how the Service is used, improve performance, diagnose bugs, and improve product quality.
We use Adjust for analytics and attribution, such as measuring app installs, campaign performance, subscription events, and general app usage trends. Adjust may process device identifiers, app event data, country or region, device information, and similar technical data for these purposes.
On Apple devices, attribution may rely on your device advertising identifier (IDFA), which Apple treats as tracking. We request your permission through Apple’s App Tracking Transparency (ATT) prompt and only access the IDFA if you allow it. If you decline, we rely on privacy-preserving measurement such as Apple’s SKAdNetwork. You can change this anytime in your device settings.
VegAI does not show third-party in-app advertisements and does not sell your personal information.
9. Apple HealthKit
VegAI can integrate with Apple HealthKit, but only if you choose to turn it on. This integration is entirely optional and off by default. If you do not enable it, VegAI does not access any Health data, and the rest of the app continues to work normally. When you do enable it, we access only the categories of data you specifically authorize, and you can grant or revoke this access at any time through your device’s Health permissions.
We use HealthKit data only to provide the app features you request, such as syncing weight, activity, or nutrition data to support tracking and personalization. We do not use this data for marketing, advertising, attribution, campaign measurement, or use-based data mining, and we do not sell it or disclose it to third parties for those purposes. Health data obtained through HealthKit is kept separate from the advertising identifier and attribution processing described in Section 8.
We do not write false or inaccurate data into HealthKit, and we do not store HealthKit data in iCloud. Your use of this integration is also subject to Apple’s applicable terms, policies, and permission controls.
10. Data Retention
We retain personal information for as long as reasonably necessary to provide the Service, maintain your account, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, enforce agreements, prevent fraud, and support legitimate business purposes.
Retention periods vary depending on the type of data, sensitivity, feature, account settings, legal requirements, and whether deletion is requested.
In general:
- Account information is retained while your account is active.
- Meal logs, goals, and nutrition history are retained while needed to provide your history and tracking features.
- Food photos are retained while needed to provide photo analysis, history, support, and security, unless deleted earlier through available controls or legal request.
- Support and transaction records may be retained longer for legal, tax, accounting, fraud-prevention, and dispute purposes.
If you delete content in the app, request account deletion, or exercise a privacy right, we will delete or de-identify applicable information unless we need to retain it for legal, security, fraud-prevention, or legitimate business reasons.
11. Your Choices and Rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to:
- Access personal information we hold about you.
- Correct inaccurate personal information.
- Delete personal information.
- Receive a portable copy of personal information.
- Object to or restrict certain processing.
- Withdraw consent where processing is based on consent.
- Opt out of targeted advertising, sale, sharing, or certain profiling where applicable.
- Appeal a decision regarding a privacy request where applicable.
You can exercise rights by contacting us at hello@aicodebase.com. We may need to verify your identity before responding.
You may also be able to manage certain information in the app, such as profile details, meal entries, photo history, notification settings, connected integrations, and account deletion. You can initiate deletion of your account directly from Settings in the app, and in-app deletion is completed within 72 hours. You may also request deletion by contacting us at hello@aicodebase.com; support requests are processed manually and completed within 45 days. After deletion, your account and associated personal information are deleted or de-identified, subject to the retention exceptions described in Section 10.
12. Regional Privacy Information
United States
Residents of some U.S. states, including California, Colorado, Connecticut, Virginia, Utah, Texas, Oregon, Montana, Delaware, New Jersey, Iowa, Nebraska, New Hampshire, Tennessee, Minnesota, Maryland, Indiana, Kentucky, Rhode Island, and others, may have additional privacy rights under state privacy laws.
Depending on the law that applies, categories of personal information we may collect include identifiers, commercial information, internet or electronic network activity, approximate geolocation, visual information such as food photos, sensitive personal information, health or wellness-related information, and inferences.
We use and disclose these categories for the purposes described in this Privacy Policy.
We do not knowingly sell personal information for money, and we do not show third-party in-app advertisements. We use device identifiers, such as the IDFA, for marketing attribution and campaign measurement where you permit tracking, which some state laws may treat as “sharing” for cross-context behavioral advertising or as targeted advertising. Where privacy laws give you opt-out rights for advertising, analytics, sale, sharing, or profiling activities, we will provide those choices as required, and on Apple devices you can decline tracking through the App Tracking Transparency prompt or your device settings.
Consumer Health Data
Some laws may treat nutrition, dietary, fitness, wellness, or body-measurement information as consumer health data. We collect and use this information only as reasonably necessary to provide requested features, with your consent where required, or as otherwise permitted by law.
We may disclose consumer health data to service providers that help us provide the Service, to third parties you authorize, or as required by law. We do not sell consumer health data.
EEA, United Kingdom, and Switzerland
If you are in the EEA, UK, or Switzerland, our legal bases for processing may include:
- Contract, to provide the Service you request.
- Consent, where required for optional processing or sensitive information.
- Legitimate interests, such as security, fraud prevention, analytics, product improvement, and support.
- Legal obligation, to comply with applicable law.
You may have the right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.
Canada and Other Regions
Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights under local privacy laws. We will honor applicable rights required by law.
13. Children’s Privacy
The Service is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
If we learn that a child under 13 has provided personal information, we will take reasonable steps to delete it. Parents or guardians may contact us at hello@aicodebase.com.
14. Security
We use reasonable technical, organizational, and administrative measures designed to protect personal information, including access controls, encryption in transit where appropriate, monitoring, and vendor controls.
No method of transmission or storage is completely secure. We cannot guarantee absolute security.
15. International Transfers
We and our service providers may process personal information in countries other than where you live. These countries may have data protection laws different from your country. Where required, we use appropriate safeguards for international transfers.
16. Do Not Track
Some browsers transmit “Do Not Track” signals. Because there is no uniform standard for these signals, we may not respond to them. Where required by law, we honor applicable opt-out preference signals or provide other opt-out methods.
17. Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The updated version will be posted with a new “Last updated” date. If changes are material, we may provide additional notice as required by law.
